Summary: Against the backdrop of the Civil War, in the midst of the 1864 Battle of the Wilderness, six lost, ragged and exhausted soldiers share a campfire, some food, and a brief respite from the day's fighting ... unaware that they are actually on opposite sides. Under the cover of darkness, they are all the same, with individual hopes, fears, and dreams. But when the rising sun reveals them to be enemies, the stage is set for a deadly confrontation.
