The history of rock 'n' roll. Disc 3 My generation. Plugging in
This ten episode documentary covers rock 'n' roll history from its humble beginnings in the '50s to Lollapalooza in the '90s. A kaleidoscope of musical memories, it features interviews with stars from Little Richard to Bono, vintage clips classic footage, concert performances, complete songs, and stars galore.
Plugging in: When Bob Dylan plugged in his guitar and began to play rock 'n' roll at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, he nearly caused a riot. This program recounts how rock reinvented itself in the mid-'60s.
My generation: Recounts the giddy rise - and harrowing fall- of rock's late -60's counterculture. In rare footage, we see bands who brought to life the Bay Area's "summer of love" before going on to international fame. Also included are classic performances from Woodstock.
